The NWRGC - is a regional unit of the Ministry of the Natural Resources of RF responsible for the management of national mineral resources of the northwestern region of Russia. Together with the subjects of the Federation (city of St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Novgorod, Pskov and Murmansk regions and Republic of Karelia ) it exercises the governmental control over mineral exploration, mining and mineral resources utilization.
The NWRGC draws up
- regional programs of geological studies of the Earth's entrails,
places and finances state orders for geological and geoecological investigation of the
regions, conducts state geological control over the use of mineral resources and makes
state examination and economic assessment of mineral reserves.
The NWRGC has at its disposal
- complete information on geology, mineral resources, production of mining
enerprises of the northwestern Russia;
- highly skilled specialists for rendering consultation, independent expertise,
recommendations for promising guidelines of geological studies and profitable capital
investments, preparation of information documents on the mineral resources.
Tne NWRGC is garanting
together with the Administrations of the regions licenses for the right of
mineral resources exploration and mining.
